A New Era for Coming Soon Listings at Compass
Compass has announced an exciting new initiative designed to expand the visibility of Coming Soon listings while giving agents and their clients greater control over how properties are marketed. Through a new partnership with Rocket Companies, including Redfin, Compass agents now have the ability to syndicate Coming Soon listings to an audience of more than 60 million buyers across the country.
This program represents an important evolution in the way listings are introduced to the market. Traditionally, sellers and agents have had to balance exposure with concerns about accumulating days on market or displaying information that could negatively influence a property’s perceived value. With this new program, Compass Coming Soon listings can reach a national audience without showing days on market, price drop history, climate risk data, or automated home valuation estimates.
For sellers, this means the opportunity to generate early interest while maintaining control over how the property is presented to buyers. Early exposure allows agents to build momentum and attract qualified buyers before the property officially launches on the open market.
One of the most significant advantages of the program is that buyer inquiries go directly to the listing agent. On Redfin, the agent’s name, photo, and brokerage are prominently displayed, ensuring that buyers connect directly with the professional who knows the property best. There are no referral fees and no lead reselling. This direct connection reinforces the relationship between agents and their clients while creating a more transparent experience for buyers.
The program also provides prioritized visibility for Compass Coming Soon listings on Redfin’s search platform, helping properties stand out to prospective buyers. By combining national exposure with strategic marketing timing, Compass agents can generate demand while protecting the integrity of the listing.
Compass continues to invest in tools and partnerships that support its agents and enhance the experience for buyers and sellers alike. This initiative builds upon the company’s well known three phased marketing strategy, which allows agents to thoughtfully introduce a property to the market, gather feedback, and refine the launch strategy before the listing becomes fully active.
Importantly, participation in the program remains entirely optional for sellers. Agents and their clients maintain full control over how and where a property is marketed and can opt out of syndication if they prefer. This flexibility ensures that each listing strategy can be tailored to the needs of the client and the unique characteristics of the home.
As the real estate industry continues to evolve, Compass remains focused on creating a future where agents maintain ownership of their listings, their data, and their client relationships. Programs like this reflect a broader vision for a more agent centered ecosystem, where the professionals who create and market listings are at the center of the transaction.
I am proud to be part of a company that continues to innovate and advocate for agents and their clients. If you are thinking about buying or selling and want to learn more about how these strategies can benefit you, I would be happy to connect.
